It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of local history expert and former chair Ken Pearce on the 29th August 2026 aged 94. Ken had been a prominent voice in the community and chair of the society between 1970 and 2024. In that time he contributed numerous articles to the Uxbridge Record, delivered many fascinating talks, informed both by his own extensive experience as well as his diligent research, and provided the traditional list of anniversaries before each meeting of the society.
Ken leaves behind him an enormous body of work on the history of Uxbridge, and his presence will be sorely missed.
